Jessica + Vin | Beach Wedding by Joe
Jessica and Vin came to choose Joe as their wedding photographer via a wedding Joe and Britney photographed together a few years prior. Like Brian and Leigh, Jessica and Vin are big beach people and wanted at least a portion of their wedding on the beach. However, with a November wedding date, they knew they couldn’t have their reception on the beach so the created a mix of wedding locations that would satisfy their own desires as well as deal with the practical elements of the day. Their Rockaway beach wedding portraits were timed perfectly!
«– Blue accents from the flowers and decor brought in the water element of the beach. Jessica chose a taupe J Crew bridesmaid dress for her girls, pairing the sand element to the girls’ flowers.
–» Jessica also chose to get ready at her family home, another great way to keep things personally meaningful.
«– Joe has a special touch with the little ones. Most kids adore him, but it took a while for the girls to warm up to him. It paid off when they posed for multiple flower girl portraits throughout the afternoon.
–» Jessica chose a traditional wedding transportation mode: a white Rolls Royce. It was the perfect choice for the start to the traditional first half of their wedding day.
«– While their Catholic wedding ceremony was traditional, Vin didn’t let that stop him from some self-expression. The bow tie over checkered shirt was an appropriate foil for his fun-loving personality. It brought a lively touch to the guys’ photos.
–» The number of images we had to choose from with her and her father in the moments leading up to the wedding ceremony are many. But this is Joe’s favorite, because you can see the slight nerves from Jessica and the joy her father is infusing into the atmosphere.
«– They married in the church Jessica grew up in near her parents’ home by the beach. Already a choice that tied in Jessica’s life experience, they added to it by asking a family friend to marry them. It was a beautiful service, filled with many a unique moment and a few good stories that can come only from having a friend do the honors of officiating.
Rockaway Beach Wedding Pictures
«– It’s a brave group of girls that wears cocktail dresses to a beach in November! They rallied for Jessica and Vin as true friends will, since the beach is such a big part of their lives.
–» Joe prides himself on being able to give couples a mix of graphically pleasing images with a modern bent and a few great classical portraits. One of the benefits of hiring a photographer with years of experience is being able to thrive in any lighting, any weather. Gorgeous beach sunsets certainly make it easier though!
These two images pair so well together in the story of Jessica and Vin’s Rockaway Beach wedding photos. The first half of their wedding day was built around the traditions in which they were raised. This beach-loving, fun-seeking couple also honors their family before them in these choices. Their traditional portrait, backlit by a cotton-candy pink sunset and set against their wedding Rolls, also honors the wedding ways of Long Island before them. But they still have their own take on a wedding and love to show individuality. Vin wore a navy suit, checked shirt and brown shoes, creating a look and style to set the tone of the party to come.
«– Party mode, on! If something’s important to you, make sure your guests know it! This greeting as guests arrived at the wedding reception was an excellent extension of Vin and Jess’s character.
–» They chose a laidback, fun entrance and first dance. Again, they proved you can have a wedding that tells a lot about you as a couple no matter where you end up for your reception venue.
«– We love a bride and groom that spend time with each other throughout their wedding day. When a wedding has a larger guest count, it’s difficult to make time while also greeting the guests that come to celebrate you. As a married couple, we can promise you’ll never regretting another dance with your new spouse. And the ladies in the background agree!
–» When multiple bridal party members comment throughout the day that they’re expecting some wild dancing antics, we hope to see that come to happen! Vin and Jessica’s friends did not disappoint and kept the dance floor packed as DJ Teddy Rauert played to the crowd.
Crowd Surfing. Enough said.
Well not quite enough. Joe was having so much fun photographing their wedding, seeing clients we hadn’t seen in a while, and enjoying the effusive atmosphere that he stayed quite late into the reception, far longer than required by contract. Joyful, boisterous weddings are infectious! So attractive, we might add, that wedding crashers join in with the celebration. And Jessica and Vin are just the kind of couple that will embrace that and keep right on partying.
