After Katherine and Mike’s wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s in Sea Cliff, they took a breezy drive to Seawanhaka Yacht Club in a family car. Mike’s dad has spent quite a bit of time with a powder blue Bel Air over the years, so it was the perfect getaway car for the new husband and wife! They sent their bridal party on in an old-fashioned trolley to arrive at a tented reception in Centre Island, on Long Island Sound.
The day started off hovering right around 100 degrees and we could hear a few grumbles amongst the guests as they arrived to an outdoor reception in the heat. Incredibly, within 10 minutes of everyone’s arrival clouds started rolling in from the west and brought a lovely breeze along with them. It couldn’t have been better timing as the whole guest list enjoyed freshly-shucked oysters at cocktail hour. From their, Drop Dead Sexy took over and rocked the house with killer reception music all night long.
Mike and Katherine enjoying the much needed breeze:
I think Verbena did a really lovely job with all the floral arrangements – it was the perfect pop of color all over the tent.
Drop Dead Sexy (coolest band name every?) rocked this reception!
Mike’s family orchestrated a few Greek dances
I’ll do Katherine a favor and not mention what song got her so excited…
