The Marshall family’s Portland family portraits are more than the typical Turn Loose the Art portrait session. We love infusing our photos with meaning, so when Lynn told me she’d really like to start the session with a significant family location, I was all ears. As it turns out, back in the 1800’s one of their ancestors as a steamboat captain on the Willamette. He was a pretty important guy and the city named a street after him. So I met up with Lynn, her father and her two daughters in the alphabet district on Marshall Street.
We photographed there for a bit, and then moved on to a new area of family significance. Lynn’s father helped plan the Forest Heights community in the West Hills and that is where they live now. It’s the perfect spot to create more family portraits with meaning.
Lynn’s daughters both now live in Arizona and flew in just the evening before our foggy portrait session. We included the family dog near the pond for a family reunion of sorts!
Portland family portraits with meaning are what we look for in a perfect portrait session. We truly enjoy creating lasting art that has personal meaning to you and your family.
