Westhampton lucked out on the day Kelly and Kevin married. Their families each rented beach houses for the week to be near the wedding venue and thoroughly enjoyed the area, the beautiful weather, and the best the beach had to offer. Their Oceanbleu wedding photos in the Hamptons show the pure joy of everyone on the day they married – but what you can really see is how much of a great time they had leading up to the wedding. There’s something about beach destination weddings that brings together a whole group of people in one place and then culminates in a beautiful wedding, and I think Kevin and Kelly’s wedding weekend was exactly that.
I started at Kelly’s rented beach house with the girls as the got ready for the day. Kelly was still at the salon when I arrived but conveniently had everything beautifully presented in her room for me to photograph!
There’s pretty much nothing better than bare toes in the sand, but when we get a dock, too? That’s just awesome. As a photographer, we’re always looking for the perfect mix of scene setters, details, moments, and portraits. It’s rare to find an image that does such a great job of all that in the same frame. This image makes me happy. It perfectly shows the feel of Kelly’s day.
We love seeing people again at weddings. Catherine was a bridesmaid in one of our autumn weddings in New York last year and it was so fun seeing her again! She’s crawling under Kelly’s custom sign here to make way for the bride.
Kevin went with the beach look as well! The sea green tie was a perfect accent for the day.
Kelly and her father shared a moment before entering the church ceremony in Westhampton.
The flower girls were a riot! Casey is the younger of the two and started serenading the wedding ceremony, so their babysitter took them outside for a bit of fresh air.
Kevin’s brother and best man was pretty happy to congratulate him after the ceremony.
Kelly hired Flowers by Rori as her florist and asked them to decorate the fence across the street from the church. Kelly is a huge lover of horses. What a perfect way to make meaningful wedding portraits that go beyond just being pretty!
And then, on to Oceanbleu! Kelly told us she loves beach grass. So do we and we used it quite a bit.
When you pick a beach reception venue for your wedding photos in the Hamptons, we know you want to make the most of all it has to offer! We love that Kevin and Kelly’s entire bridal party and family came out to the beach for their portraits. It was a bit breezy but we ended up with some great groups.
Oceanbleu is definitely one of our favorite wedding venues on Long Island. Their staff is wonderful and courteous and runs a top notch service. The lighting is so easy to work with as well.
Kelly and Kevin were happy to step away for a few minutes at the end of dinner for some night portraits.
Kevin’s Irish, and he had a very Irish-y fun and loud set of groomsmen. I’m not sure how that ended up in a shark circle around them, but it did. We just roll with the reception moments sometimes…
Another fun little touch – Kelly ordered custom glasses with their name and wedding date for the reception. And they wore them for a good chunk of dancing time, too.
