We’ve got a whole slough of Portland family portraits coming up, just about ready to hit the blog soon! And the first in the set is the Crigler family with their Laurelhurst Park family portraits. When setting up the session, Liane mentioned it doesn’t really get more Portland than their family. She’s a jewelry designer and Xian’s a beer distributor (and he’s got a few stories to tell all on his own)! They’ve got kind of a crazy schedule, she noted, just like everyone else seems to these days, so we put a date on the calendar to meet for a photo session at Laurelhurst.
The boys are into soccer and it’s a great way to get them comfortable being around the “big black camera” as we sometimes call it. In fact, there were plenty of times that soccer ball flew by me faster than a hummingbird scouting nectar. It was fitting, being such a beautiful spring day in Portland.
So Rowan wasn’t quite as adept with the soccer ball but more than made up for it with his gymnastic prowess. Check out that arm strength on the little guy!
Also… a little wrestling never hurt anybody, right? Okay fine, it usually ends up with one of the brothers a bit hurt here or there. All in good fun of course. He did it, not me!
If you’re on the East side of town and looking for a location with wide open spaces, Laurelhurst Park is a good standby. Though there were plenty of picnicing couples and even some practicing some sort of dance routine, we had plenty of space to let the boys run off some energy so they could come together for a few lightly posed family portraits. Laurelhurst Park family portraits can look vastly different from one season to the next, but this is my favorite – focusing on the joy and relationships within the Crigler family.
