Cubanisimo Vineyards is a nice little vineyard in the hills outside of Salem, Oregon. It just so happens Maurice’s dad owns the place and named it in honor of his Cuban heritage. The Cubanisimo Vineyards wedding photos we want to share with you are quite personal for this couple no matter which way you look at it. Above all other things in wedding photography, this is is our favorite. We love the personal meaning behind the photograph. We truly enjoy helping our couples share that personal meaning with their friends and family.
Cubanisimo Vineyards Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony setup overlooks one of the larger vineyards and to a lesser degree, the Willamette Valley wine country. It just so happened we had perfectly colored blue skies and a few small lines flat clouds to add a little texture to the vista. Casey and Maurice went simple with wine barrel aisle decor and flowers by Ponderosa & Thyme.
Maurice’s nephew had a custom shirt for their wedding while he served as ring bearer for their vineyard wedding ceremony. Another unique thing they did for the ceremony? They had readings from the guest area.
They wore sunglasses for most of the bright ceremony. When it came time for the vows, they took them off to look at each other. Since they had a friend of theirs officiate, there was much laughter involved! They really found ways to personalize almost anything!
Katie Davis Flowers and Events did such a nice job with the floral design.
The guys asked for a photo to show off their socks – no really! Of course it ended up not really being about the socks, but the photo is funny all the same. The guys all looked great. So often the wedding ends up being all about the girls, but we love when the guys put in so much effort as well!
Maurice told a story to all his guests about his changing attitude towards Cubanisimo Vineyards. When he was a teenager, one of his chores was mowing the grassy areas around the vines. Anyone with a lawn in Oregon knows, at certain times of the year grass just grows faster than weeds. And he hated it! As a teenager he never could have imagined getting married there. But when he and Casey started planning their wedding, it suddenly seemed like the only thing that made sense as it was so much a part of him. We love stories like this. And since our goal is always personal and meaningful wedding photos, we created a really lovely series of photos of Mo and Casey in the vineyards.
Cubanisimo Vineyards Wedding Reception
Halfway through planning the wedding, Casey heard about a wedding stylist through her sister. Nicole was so instrumental in adding little touches throughout the day. The signs for food and decor were all her work.
We just heard it from Mo himself – the surprise doo-wop song and dance by some of his friends was planned only the night before the wedding in a parking lot.
Cubanisimo Vineyards doesn’t do a ton of weddings, though once these Oregon wine country wedding photos hit the blogs I’m sure they’ll be getting more inquiries!
Open dancing for a mix of New Yorkers and Oregonians sure brought some interesting moves to the floor!
That concludes our latest wedding blog post. If you didn’t have a chance to check out the earlier part of their wedding, hop on over to Casey and Mo’s getting ready photos and portraits!
