It was Jacob’s sister who first contacted us for his and Jerry’s destination wedding weekend in Napa Valley. As a former wedding photographer, she was tasked with scouring for the perfect match to photograph their full weekend of planned activities, and they only gave her a month to do it! Luckily she found us thanks to a mutual acquaintance and Jerry booked us in for their Carneros Inn wedding. Only he made sure to tell us, the weekend was only partially about their wedding. What they really wanted was a great excuse to get all their friends up from Texas and Florida to experience one of their favorite places in the world and figured a wedding would be a great reason to do it!
After photographing their welcome dinner up at the top of the Carneros Inn property, we spent the next morning on a bus touring Napa Valley with their 30 or so nearest and dearest. We started at Cakebread Cellars and then moved on to Hall Wines, each impressive in very different ways.
The art and decor at Hall was stunning – this said by an artist! The history at Hall is lovely; a later in life marriage between one who loves art and architecture and another who wanted to spend the rest of her life making wine.
For both the welcome dinner evening and wedding, the guys chose David Hart coats in different shades. They had great style so it’s no surprise they pulled it off and looked stunning.
Their sunset wedding ceremony in Carneros Inn‘s orchard was beautiful and personal. A friend officiated and orchestrated a modern take on handfasting for them.
And right after the ceremony ended, we all boarded a bus to Ram’s Gate Winery across the hill in Sonoma Valley. The guests were treated to another winery tour as they finished setting up for the wedding reception.
The chandelier… oh the chandelier!
And then the dancing let loose after a multi-course (and incredibly delicious!) dinner:
