We love submitting our images to photography competition contests for lots of reasons. Mainly it forces us, as photographers, to curate our best work and ultimately push themselves to compete with “the best” photographers around. By doing so, we are constantly striving to be better and better, which only helps our clients get the very best in photography and imagery. So, when I found out that I won another award from ISPWP (International Society of Portrait and Wedding Photographers) I was really stoked!
The ISPWP is an organization of the best photographers around the world. It was created by professional photographers to raise the standards of the wedding photography profession. Currently there are over 1000 members worldwide and each contest has roughly 3000-5000 image submissions, so when found out I received 13th place in the “Family Love” category, I was really happy!
The winning image (below) was from Jessica and Vin’s Rockaway Beach Wedding back in November. It was a beautiful, yet chilly fall day and everyone was so happy to see this wedding take place. While I was waiting for the bride, Jessica, to come out side for a few quick portraits, I had a opportunity to entertain two of the cutest and genuine little flower girls who loved holding hands and being with each other. I took a few images of them throughout the day, but it was this image that was so heartfelt and natural; and apparently the judges felt the same way too!
Thank you Jessica and Vin for letting me (and Turn Loose The Art) be a part of your special day! We love you guys!
