Jen’s niece, Savannah, played significantly into their wedding as not only the flower girl but a big helper for Jen as she was getting ready. Jen had Savannah’s dress made especially for her to avoid traditional flower girl dresses and it suited her perfectly.
«– Huck and Jen really wanted the entire bridal party to walk to their Urban Studio wedding together, so they arranged a first look in the lobby of Hotel Monaco where Jen got ready for the day. We love Huck’s reaction to seeing Jen for the first time on their wedding day!
–» Hotel Monaco has a purple couch in the elevator lobby, but it seemed to have disappeared when they came down from their room. As it turned out, the hotel had a few large sport teams coming in with a lot of gear and they moved it to make way for the large influx of luggage. Luckily, we found it for Jen since she loved that it matched her favorite colors.
«– Some of their bridal party was from the Salem, Oregon area, but most of their friends flew in from around the country, so Jen and Huck enjoyed showing them around downtown Portland for their wedding portraits.
–» Jen has always loved Powell’s Books and asked if we could stop there for a few photos. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and allowed us some couple portraits in the book stacks.
«– As a venue, it’s an empty slate. So Jen and Huck designed a clean, candlelit ceremony at their Urban Studio wedding. Jen collected mercury glass as many of the candle and flower vases.
–» Portland’s Pearl District made the perfect backdrop to their Urban Studio wedding ceremony. For a winter wedding, Jen and Huck couldn’t have picked a better day!
«– Huck and Jen decorated the walls in Urban Studio with photos of themselves when young and photos from their dating years. It was a perfect way to share their lives in an intimate wedding setting.
–» Jen had such great expressions all day! She and Huck are cutting their mini cake, but what they really enjoyed are the cupcakes they arranged to bring up from Salem where Jen’s family lives.
«– Huck is an Army Ranger and his groomsmen were made up solely of guys he’s served with in the past. They showed us a pretty good time on the dance floor!
–» Jen loved her dress and heels for the formal parts of the day, but when it came time to dancing she valued comfort! She and Huck both slipped into Converse for the reception.
