I’ve already written so much about John and Paul’s wedding weekend that… They each got ready surrounded by a posse of friends and family. They had a touching first look and hopped on a bus over to their wedding venue, 23 Hoyt. They got married and probably could have gone swimming in a wide pool of emotional tears, riding waves of laughter in the shallows. They danced. A lot. Their 23 Hoyt wedding photos show so, so much more than that. So for once, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
John had his hair done. And you know, he clearly loved it. I just loved the spectacular lighting at Hotel Monaco, his chosen place to get ready for the day!
Meanwhile, Joe was with Paul across town…
Paul and John are total saps and we love them for that, so seeing them in unison start to cry when they first saw the setup at their 23 Hoyt wedding ceremony was awesome!
We spent a little time walking around NW 23rd street for their wedding portraits because we could. Clearly if you plan a February wedding in Portland, you don’t expect a sunny spring wedding day, but that’s exactly what we had and couldn’t miss the opportunity!
Sammy’s Flowers did a wonderful job on their decor!
The energy in the later part of the reception was incredible, from old 70’s rock to John’s dance solo to Britney Spears. They rocked it out!
Last night as the guys sat in our living room to see their wedding images for the first time, I think Paul paid us the best compliment I’ve ever heard. It went something along the lines of, they’re so glad we figured out early in life what we were meant to do. Because they couldn’t imagine us not creating this collection of Portland wedding photography for them, couldn’t imagine us not being there as a part of it all. My heart burst a little upon hearing this. Sometimes it just works out and right person is there for you at the right time. We’re glad Paul and John are there for each other, together, and able to celebrate it and remember this weekend.
